We are witnessing the unfortunate events that have engulfed Afghanistan in the last several weeks and continuing. Yet again, for the third time in twenty years, an educated and bright population full of dreams of building and developing Afghanistan is forced to leave their homeland to settle in a far distant land. These Afghans are facing a daunting transition with many challenges and uncertainties.
Our leadership at HIT also due to the invasion of the Soviets in the year 1979 and the atrocities committed by them, followed by a bloody civil war, were forced to leave their country and be among the few lucky ones who did not get subjected to the abuses and dangers that millions of Afghans left behind faced over the next decades.
We fully realize the difficulties for a new refugee to settle in an entirely different country across the globe that differs in culture, language, systems, laws, and society overall. Our team has first-hand experience as they have lived, learned the language, assimilated into the society, have earned an education, serving in jobs encompassing multiple professional fields, medicine, science, social, etc.. and have produced a talented new generation of Afghan Americans who like their parents, contribute to society, and are making a difference in their communities on daily basis.
We understand what the most immediate, short-term, and long-term needs of living in the United States are for these newly arrived refugees.
We offer counseling and advisory support services in various matters and subject areas that include but are not limited to social, educational, occupational, religious, economic, and personal.
We believe that our services provide these new refugees with the guidance and blueprint for a smooth transition and resettlement inside the United States of America.
