Design and Development

Design is a transitional phase and critical to building the system. It translates the functional needs of the customer and users to technical models and modules, prototypes, and workable solutions that meet the user objectives. Input into the design phase are the functional, behavioral, and information models.

  • Functional model outlines the tasks and functions the application needs to carry out
  • Informational model dictates the type of information to be processed and how it will be processed
  • Behavioral model explains the states the application will be in during and after specific transitions take place

Design and Development

The design items produced are a set of organized, precise features that need to be developed in the development phase (either custom build or the integration of a COTs product).  Development of these features using various programming languages or frameworks advances the product to the test phase where the designed product is developed and then tested preparing the validated code for acceptance or demonstration to the customer.

We at HIT fully recognize the challenges these phases can present and the talent and skills but more importantly the discipline it takes to build the  right product on schedule and with the least number of bugs. We bring value in many more ways than simply staffing the project with qualified bodies, such as industry knowledge, experience and wisdom, the interdependence, the pitfalls and hurdles of these phases and have solid solutions to each. It is not our goal to build the perfect system, we want to build the right system, for the right user, at the right time and if that  road leads us towards building a perfect system, then we are glad.
